Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how FeedingBird LLC ("FeedingBird," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with your use of: (a) the website located at feedingbird.com and any associated subdomains; (b) any other websites, web or mobile applications, tools, products, or services that link to this Privacy Policy; and (c) any related customer support channels, including telephone calls, video calls, emails, chats, and in-application messaging (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that this Privacy Policy applies to you and that you have read and understood its terms. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the FeedingBird Terms of Use. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, you may contact us at support@feedingbird.com. If you are a California resident, please also review Section 8 (Notice to California Residents).
The information we collect about you depends on which Services you use, how you interact with them, and what information you choose to provide. We collect information in three primary ways: (a) information you provide directly to us; (b) information we collect automatically when you access or use the Services; and (c) information we obtain from other sources.
You may provide information directly to FeedingBird when you create an account, build or update an estate plan or financial or legacy document, participate in referral, advisor, or partner programs, complete online forms or questionnaires, interact with customer support, upload documents (including wills, trusts, financial statements, and related legal or financial paperwork), or participate in surveys, promotions, feedback programs, or testimonials. Categories of information may include contact and account information, government-issued identifiers, financial and transactional information, estate-planning and document content (including assets, liabilities, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, guardians, and other planning details), customer-support interaction information, survey and feedback information, and information about third parties you identify in your estate plan. Payment card information is processed by our payment processor and FeedingBird does not store full credit card numbers.
When you access or use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage through cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, log files, session replay technologies, and similar tools. FeedingBird uses the following SDKs: Firebase, Meta SDK, Heap, Apple Pay PassKit, Google Pay, and Stripe SDK. Information automatically collected may include device data (IP address, approximate location, device type, operating system, browser type, unique device identifiers, network information), usage data (pages visited, time spent, navigation paths, clicks, scrolls, search queries, features used, and where permitted, session replays), and general location information derived from your IP address. You may configure your browser or device to block or delete cookies; however, certain features of the Services may not function properly if cookies or similar technologies are disabled.
We may obtain information about you from other sources, including other FeedingBird users who include you in their plans; professional advisors, financial planners, attorneys, fiduciaries, or other professionals who use FeedingBird's professional tools; affiliate, partner, or benefit programs and non-profit organizations; marketing partners and data-enrichment providers; and public databases, government records, and commercially available sources. We may also receive information when you create or connect your FeedingBird account using Facebook Login (Meta Platforms, Inc.), Sign in with Google (Google LLC), or Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.). When you connect your FeedingBird account to a third-party platform, you authorize us to collect, store, and use the information provided by that platform in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
FeedingBird may collect, receive, or access information about you from professionals, advisors, affiliates, non-profit organizations, institutions, or other third parties when such access is necessary to provide, support, or enhance the Services and when you have authorized or consented to such sharing. FeedingBird offers tools and platforms for professionals, advisors, partners, affiliates, and non-profit organizations (collectively, the "Professional/Partner Platforms"). Through these platforms, we may receive information about you when a financial advisor, attorney, accountant, fiduciary, employer, non-profit partner, or other authorized professional uploads documents, processes information, utilizes FeedingBird's AI-assisted tools on your behalf, refers you to FeedingBird, or integrates FeedingBird's Services into their own offerings. These professionals and partners are independently responsible for obtaining all required authorizations and consents from you to share your information with FeedingBird, as well as for complying with their own legal, regulatory, ethical, and privacy obligations.
We use your information to provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including creating and managing your FeedingBird account; generating, maintaining, and storing your estate-planning and related documents; processing payments and subscription renewals; enabling secure shared access to your documents and account for individuals and professionals you authorize; and providing "concierge" or account-assistance services, where, at your explicit direction, our authorized staff help you implement changes within your account. We may also use your information to notify individuals you designate—such as beneficiaries, executors, guardians, or other trusted contacts—about your plan or shared access, in accordance with the settings and permissions you configure.
We use your information to communicate with you by email, in-application notifications, SMS or text messages, where permitted, and by telephone and video. Such communications may include account registration and verification messages, transaction confirmations and receipts, plan updates and reminders, security alerts, changes to our terms or policies, and other service announcements or important notices regarding the Services.
We may use your information to send newsletters, updates, promotional offers, and other marketing communications relating to FeedingBird or our partners; to solicit surveys and product feedback; and to deliver and measure FeedingBird advertisements on other websites and applications through the use of cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. We also use your information to analyse campaign performance, audience segments, and trends. You may opt out of certain marketing communications and targeted advertising activities as described in Section 7.
We use your information to personalize your experience with the Services, including remembering your preferences and settings, tailoring content, prompts, and recommendations to you, improving the usability, security, and performance of the Services, and testing and evaluating new features, user experiences, and product flows.
We use your information to monitor and protect the integrity of our systems and data; detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or other harmful or illegal activity; comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal process, government or regulatory requests, and law-enforcement inquiries; and enforce the Terms of Use and other agreements.
We may aggregate or de-identify your information so that it no longer reasonably identifies you and use such data for research, analytics, and business-intelligence purposes, as well as to improve, develop, and expand our features, tools, and offerings. Aggregated or de-identified data may be used or disclosed for any lawful purpose.
FeedingBird uses advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and large language models ("AI"), to enhance our internal workflows, assist with sales and marketing, provide conversational support through chat bots or AI-enhanced call-center tools, analyze and ingest documents for you or your authorized professional advisors, and detect potential errors, inconsistencies, or missing information in your inputs. We do not use your personal information to train or fine-tune external third-party AI models. AI-generated outputs may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable as legal or financial advice, and you remain responsible for reviewing all documents and consulting licensed professionals where appropriate. FeedingBird uses Microsoft Azure OpenAI as its AI provider and GPT-5 Chat as its underlying model.
FeedingBird may send you SMS or text messages in connection with your use of the Services. We send two categories of SMS messages, each requiring separate consent. Transactional messages include one-time passwords (OTPs), account verification codes, security alerts, account activity notifications, and other messages necessary to operate your account. By providing your phone number during account creation, you consent to receive these transactional messages. Marketing messages include promotional offers, product updates, newsletters, and other non-essential communications; we will only send marketing SMS messages if you have separately and explicitly opted in. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. To opt out of any SMS messages, reply STOP to any message. To request assistance, reply HELP. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before using your personal information for a new or materially different purpose from those described in this Privacy Policy. When you consent to a particular use, you may withdraw your consent at any time in accordance with applicable law.
We engage carefully selected third-party vendors and service providers to perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, document printing and mailing vendors, identity-verification and fraud-prevention providers, financial data aggregators and payment processors, analytics and product-measurement platforms, A/B testing and personalization services, session-replay tools, AI-enabled customer-support and call-center providers, marketing, email, and SMS platforms, advertising partners, and professional advisors such as law firms, auditors, and consultants. These vendors may access your information solely to perform their services for us and are required to handle such information in accordance with applicable law and contractual obligations.
We may disclose your information to FeedingBird's current and future parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates, which will handle your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
We may transfer your information in connection with a corporate transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar event. In the event of such a transaction, the successor entity may continue to process your information subject to its own privacy policy, and we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
We may disclose your information when we reasonably believe such disclosure is necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental or regulatory request; to enforce the Terms of Use or other agreements; to protect the rights, property, or safety of FeedingBird, our users, or the public; or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
The Services may allow you to share access to your account or documents with third parties such as financial advisors, attorneys, executors, trustees, employers, family members, or other individuals, and to connect your account to third-party platforms. When you enable such sharing or connections, you authorize FeedingBird to disclose relevant information to the designated third parties in accordance with your instructions. Those third parties may have their own privacy policies and security practices, which are not controlled by FeedingBird. You may revoke shared access or disconnect integrated services through your account settings on a going-forward basis; however, disclosures that have already occurred cannot be undone.
We may disclose limited information to business partners, including financial institutions, employer or member organizations, and other entities that sponsor or facilitate access to the Services, as well as referral and affiliate partners. Such information may include your name, contact information, the type of product or plan you have selected, the date of account creation or benefit activation, and high-level engagement or transactional information. Some of these activities may be deemed a "sale" of personal information or "sharing" for targeted advertising under certain state privacy laws, and you may have opt-out rights as set forth in Sections 7 and 8.
Where the Services support workflows in which you designate non-profit organizations as beneficiaries or charitable gift recipients, or where you arrive at FeedingBird through an NPO-related referral program, and where applicable and authorized by you, we may disclose information about you to those non-profit organizations you specifically name or designate. Non-profit organizations receiving information through FeedingBird are contractually required to use your information solely for legitimate charitable and stewardship purposes, maintain appropriate security measures, refrain from selling, renting, or transferring your information to third parties, and honour your opt-out and deletion requests as required by law and contract.
If you access the Services through a sponsored program provided by your employer, union, membership organization, financial institution, or similar entity (a "Sponsoring Organization"), we may disclose limited information to that Sponsoring Organization for the purpose of administering the benefit. This may include your name and member identifier, the date you activated or used the benefit, the product tier or plan type, and generalized engagement metrics. This type of sharing is for program administration and is not treated as a "sale" of personal information under the CCPA.
We may work with analytics and advertising partners that place cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on the Services to help us understand how users interact with the Services, improve performance and user experience, and deliver and measure FeedingBird advertisements on other websites and mobile applications. FeedingBird application does not engage in cross-app tracking, or use third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes, and we do not share any data with data brokers, advertising networks, or other third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking purposes. This applies across all platforms on which FeedingBird application is available, including our iOS and Android mobile applications and our web application.
We may disclose information that has been aggregated or de-identified such that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you. Use and disclosure of aggregated or de-identified data are not restricted by this Privacy Policy.
We never publicly disclose financial account details, payment information, or government identification numbers.
We and our service providers use a variety of technologies, including cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar tools, to understand how you use the Services, improve navigation and performance, remember your preferences and login state, maintain security and prevent fraud, and deliver and measure our own marketing and advertising. We may use third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to analyse usage patterns and trends. You may opt out of certain Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On. Only for our website, we may work with advertising partners to display FeedingBird advertisements on other websites and applications. You may manage certain advertising and tracking preferences through our website's cookie or privacy settings icon, through your browser settings, and through industry opt-out tools such as those offered by the Network Advertising Initiative or the Digital Advertising Alliance.
The Services are intended for individuals who are eighteen (18) years of age or older. We do not direct the Services to children under the age of eighteen and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13) without verifiable parental consent where required by law. Your estate plan may include information about minor children, for example, to name guardians or beneficiaries; in those circumstances, we collect such information from you with your consent and use it solely for the limited business purpose of helping you create and maintain your estate plan. If you believe that a child under thirteen has provided personal information to us without appropriate consent, please contact us at support@feedingbird.com.
Your privacy rights may vary depending on your jurisdiction, but may include rights to access, correct, update, delete, or object to certain uses of your personal information, as well as rights to opt out of certain types of data processing. FeedingBird will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
Subject to applicable law and certain exceptions, you may have the right to request information regarding the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, and you may also have the right to request correction or deletion of certain personal information. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Where permitted by law, you may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. If you created or connected your FeedingBird account using a third-party login service such as Facebook Login, Sign in with Google, or Sign in with Apple, you may request deletion of that data by visiting https://app.feedingbird.com/data-deletion or by emailing support@feedingbird.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." Upon receiving a valid request, we will delete or de-identify the personal information associated with your account within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain data for legal, regulatory, fraud prevention, security, or dispute resolution purposes.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the "unsubscribe" link included in those emails or by contacting us at support@feedingbird.com. If we send you SMS marketing messages where permitted, you may opt out by replying "STOP" or as otherwise instructed in the message. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may continue to send you transactional or service-related communications, such as account notices, policy updates, or security alerts.
Under certain state privacy laws, including the CCPA, you may have the right to opt out of the "sale" of your personal information and the "sharing" or processing of your personal information for targeted advertising. You may exercise your right to opt out at any time by sending an email to the contact address listed on our website or by contacting us through our AI-enabled support platform. We also honour legally recognized browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), to the extent required by applicable law.
From time to time, FeedingBird may offer discounts, credits, promotions, referral bonuses, rewards, or other benefits in connection with the collection or use of personal information. These programs may be considered "financial incentives" under certain privacy laws. Participation is voluntary. When you choose to participate, we will describe the material terms of the program, including the categories of personal information involved and how to withdraw from the program. You may opt out of a financial-incentive program at any time by following its specific instructions or by contacting us.
If you are a resident of California, you are entitled to certain additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended ("CCPA"). FeedingBird may engage in activities that constitute "sales" or "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA, including through certain partner programs, targeted advertising, and NPO or partner subscription models. California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share; to request access to specific pieces of personal information; to request deletion of certain personal information; to request correction of inaccurate personal information; to opt out of sales and sharing of personal information; and to be free from discrimination for exercising their rights. You may exercise these rights as described in Section 7 and through the cookie or privacy icon on our website. We do not use or disclose "sensitive personal information" for any purpose that would require offering a right to limit under the CCPA.
FeedingBird is based in the United States, and the Services are controlled and operated from the United States. By using the Services or providing information to us, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and possibly other countries, whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country of residence. We will take appropriate steps to ensure that any cross-border transfers of personal information comply with applicable data-protection laws.
We employ a combination of technical, physical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Such measures include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and authentication mechanisms, monitoring and logging, and periodic security reviews and assessments. All data is encrypted at rest using a minimum 256-bit key and in transit over HTTPS using minimum TLS 1.2. However, no security safeguards are absolute or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials and for logging out of your account at the end of each session.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations, or as necessary to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Core account and plan data may be retained for extended periods so that you and your authorized trusted parties can access your plan over time. Support records and chat transcripts may be retained for shorter periods for training and quality-assurance purposes. Backup copies of data may persist for a limited time even after deletion requests but will be securely isolated and ultimately overwritten in accordance with our backup and data-retention policies.
This Privacy Policy primarily addresses how we process personal information of users of the Services. If you are a FeedingBird employee, contractor, or job applicant, your information may be subject to a separate Employee and Applicant Privacy Policy or similar notice provided to you at the time of collection, which will govern how we collect and use information in the employment or recruitment context.
We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, changes to the Services or our business practices, or improvements in our privacy and security controls. When we make material changes, we will update the "Updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, provide additional notice such as by email or in-application notification. Your continued use of the Services after any such update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the updated Privacy Policy, you must stop using the Services.
